Position Summary
The position will facilitate the Program and Operations department to implement logistics and fleet plans according to instructions by supervisor. He will be responsible for end to end smooth execution of travelling plan related to project/standard procedures
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure transportation of Human appeal staffs and goods to and from field of activities in Erbil with frequent travel to field offices.
- Ability to work on a weekend if it needs as dictated by Senior Logistics and will be compensated.
- The driver will ensure that all records and vehicle logbooks are kept up to date according to senior logistics officer requirements.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers in vehicle while driving including the use of seatbelts by all passengers before any movement of vehicles.
- The driver will always follow Human appeal Security Standard Operating Procedures relating to the safety and security for themselves, their passengers, cargo, and other road users, the driver will follow communication schedules dictated by the Human appeal Security Coordinator.
- Make sure vehicles have on board all required documents, the right equipment, adequate fuel and oil before any use.
- Report any vehicle dysfunction or failure, and request for service, repairs, fuel, oils, parts, etc. in a timely manner. .
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Receive/ drop visitors at airport(s) and then drive them to respective residence/ hotel/ guest house/ venue etc.
- Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle logs, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
- Perform any other task assigned by senior procurement & Logistics officer.
Work Environment:
- Erbil Office based /Filed travel required to other offices according to the needs.
- Time work from Sunday to Thursday each day contains 8 and half hours with 30 minutes of lunch break.
Vehicle Type:
- Provide a Modern vehicle, preferable Model 2017 and above.
Safety Equipment in the Vehicle:
- Comprehensive first aid kit.
- Fire extinguisher fixed in the car with expire no less than (6) months.
- Warning triangle.
- Rolling seat belts for all seats.
- Headrests all seats.
- A spare wheel.
- Rope for towing/pulling.
Vehicle Cleanliness and Visibility:
- Ensuring maintenance of the vehicle by checking its status on a weekly basis.
- Alerting the direct supervisor in case of any technical problems.
- Ensure that Vehicle is equipped with safety and security materials, and that safety and security protocol is always followed.
- Check the vehicle prior to its use in the morning and after use.
- Check the vehicle before departing from work.
- Ensuring the vehicle is checked in terms of fuel, water, oil, tires pressures, and repairs required on a regular basis.
- Ensuring that the vehicle is always kept clean on the outside and inside and that all rubbish is removed from it after a journey.
Knowledge/ Work Experience:
- Valid driving license.
- Previous work experience as a driver in local or international NGOs and/or companies.
- Ability to drive for long hours and travel regularly.
- Excellent knowledge of the local region
- Clean driving record/history.
- Safety and security rules, traffic rules.
Language Skills:
- Kurdish, Arabic and English is plus..
