Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is a UK registered charity that works around the world to find and destroy landmines, cluster munitions and unexploded bombs in places affected by conflict. We also work to reduce armed violence and support communities affected by conflict and insecurity.

About  MAG is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Legal Services Provider to deliver high-quality, practical and responsive legal advice that supports our charitable purpose, governance responsibilities and international operations.

MAG is interested in the following areas of legal advice: governance and regulatory advice; contract review, drafting and negotiation; employment law; data protection and information governance; safeguarding, fraud, corruption and serious incidents; insurance and risk; international operations; separate legal entities regulatory reporting and compliance; disputes and contentious matters; export controls, sanctions and trade compliance; general legal advisory support.

The objectives of this tender process are to:

  • Secure high-quality legal advice tailored to MAG’s charitable and operational requirements.
  • Appoint a primary provider that delivers strong value for money through an effective balance of expertise, responsiveness and cost.
  • Establish a long-term relationship with a trusted legal adviser that understands MAG’s international operating environment.
  • Access specialist expertise and innovative approaches to legal service delivery.
  • Ensure clear service standards, responsive support and transparent pricing arrangements.
Eligibility requirements  The Legal Services Provider must:

    • Be a legally established and regulated Legal Services Provider.
    • Accept MAG’s Supplier Code of Conduct.
    • Be financially stable and not insolvent.
    • Be authorised and regulated to provide legal advice on UK law.
    • Have experience supporting organisations with international operations and
      coordinating jurisdiction-specific legal advice where required.
    • Be able to offer access to specialist legal expertise across the service areas
      included within the scope.
    • Maintain Professional Indemnity Insurance of at least £5 million.
    • Be able to provide a named lead engagement partner with relevant qualifications
      and experience
